• Private Tour of SP 745: Step back in time and explore the grandeur of our historic steam locomotive. Our expert guide will lead your group on a fascinating tour of the SP 745.
• Train Rides in Our Historic Caboose: Feel the nostalgia as you take a ride in our historical caboose, pulled by our SW8 Diesel Locomotive. It’s a one-of-a-kind way to experience railroad history.
• Special Guest of Honor Experience: The guest of honor will receive a Souvenir Engineer Hat and can ride in the locomotive cab with our engineer—an experience they’ll never forget!
• Free 1-Year LASTA Membership: The Guest of Honor (and their family) will receive a free 1-year LASTA membership.

Booking Details

• Availability: We accept reservations between March and November, on the following days:
• Saturdays at 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM
• School Field trips can be scheduled during the week.
• Pricing: Host your event for just $500, including all the amazing features listed above for up to 25 guests. Larger groups can be accommodated for additional fees.

• Step 2: Once you receive an email confirmation, submit your $50 deposit using the form below.
• Step 3: Final payment is due 10 days before your event. We will send you an invoice for the remaining balance.

Rules and Disclaimers:

• Accessibility Disclaimer: Due to the nature of our historic equipment, the cars are not ADA accessible. We will work with your group to accommodate when possible. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific needs.
• Cab Rider Rules:
  • We can only accommodate one adult cab rider per trip. The minimum age to ride is 6 years. One parent must accompany riders who are under 18 years old.
  • Cab riders are required to adhere to crew instructions at all times. Non-compliance with these rules will lead to the immediate termination of the cab ride.
  • Photography is allowed only when permitted by the crew. Riders must wear comfortable clothes (that you don’t mind getting dirty). Closed-toe shoes with a heel no higher than ½ inch and long pants are required. LASTA will provide hearing protection. Complete mobility is required for all cab riders, including the ability to climb vertical stairs unassisted, stand for 15-30 minutes unaided, and hear and see safety commands from the crew. These requirements are for your safety.
• Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our historic equipment, LASTA reserves the right to change the schedule or cancel trains at any time.
• Refunds will only be issued if the trip is canceled due to inclement weather or mechanical problems.
• Event Rentals are by Reservation Only: All events must be booked in advance.
• Food and Beverage Policy: Guests are responsible for providing their own food and beverages. LASTA does not provide catering services. We will provide trash receptacles but guests must take all leftovers with them at the end of the event.
• Liability Waiver: Guests must sign a liability waiver before participating in a cab ride. A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver for guests under 18 years old.
• Lost and Found: LASTA is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal belongings during your visit. We recommend securing your belongings at all times.
• Noise Level & Behavior: We ask that guests be mindful of noise levels while on board the trains and in the train yard to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. Disruptive or unsafe behavior, including loud or aggressive conduct, will not be tolerated and may result in event termination without refund. Guests under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or those behaving in an unsafe or disorderly manner, will be asked to leave the property.
• Pets and Animals: Pets are not allowed on the trains or within the train yard unless they are service animals. If you plan to bring a service animal, please inform us in advance so we can make appropriate accommodations.
• Photography and Media Use: By attending an event at the rail yard, you consent to the use of photographs and video taken during the event for marketing and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify the staff in advance.
• Smoking and Alcohol Policy: Smoking (including e-cigarettes) and the consumption of alcohol are not permitted on the train or within the rail yard.
• No weapons allowed: No firearms or knives
• Weather-Dependent Events: Our events are generally held rain or shine. However, in cases of extreme weather (e.g., heavy rain, thunderstorms, etc.), we reserve the right to cancel the event for safety reasons. In such cases, we will provide you with a full refund or work with you to reschedule.
